#SixforSunday is hosted by Steph at A Little But A Lot. Every week there is a bookish-themed prompt to inspire 6 choices.
This month focuses on The Ever Growing TBR Pile and this week the prompt is 2019 Books I want to read.
This is my first ever #SixforSunday post so I hope I get this right!
I have chosen to focus on the fact there are quite a few 2019 books that I’ve acquired but sadly not got round to reading yet rather books I want to get.
1 Lightning Chase me Home – Amber Lee Dodd (Scholastic)
Scottish mythology- windswept Island- Wild magic
2 Guardians of the Wild Unicorns – Lindsay Littleson (Discover Kelpies)
Scottish mythology- unicorns!- courage to do the right thing

3. Potkin & Stubbs- Sophie Green Illustrated by Karl Mountford (Piccadilly)
Mystery- ghosts- classic film noir

4. Mo, Lottie and the Junkers- Jennifer Killick (Firefly Press)
Changes- ice cream – Mystery
5. Witches (Un) Welcome – Kaye Umansky Illustrated by Ashley King (Simon & Schuster)
Magic- Prejudice- problem solving

6. The Secret Summer – Ali Standish (Orchard Books) *
Coming of age- buried secrets- Island setting

Have you read any of these? If so where should I start?
What would your Six for Sunday be?
* indicates that I received this book for free from a review scheme.
I loved Guardians of the Wild Unicorns. Potkin & Stubbs is in my TBR.

I ordered it from my local bookstore as it wasn’t being stocked anywhere nearby and yet it slipped down my TBR! Hope I get to it soon!

I’ve read the first four of these and really enjoyed them all- Lightning Chase Me Home in particular as it got me through a rubbish couple of hospital days that were very close together and were both fairly unpleasant. It was very nice to be transported to a Scottish island during them! I have the Secret Summer on my TBR, and I’m looking forward to giving it a try 😊

I’m hoping to prioritise some pile reading in between some ‘required’ reading to get onto these- good to know that even though I haven’t read them yet, I have some good taste!!

I adore mythology and a special appreciation for the variation around these islands- I bought the girls a Scottish mythology for children book at the same time!!

I’ve not read any of these either (yet). I want to read Lightning Chase Me Home, the others are likely unrateables so I’d read them if I ever get caught up on my TBR but wouldn’t be adding them to the pile otherwise. Potkin and Stubbs is somewhere in the middle.

Potkin and Stubbs is supposed to have a vintage film noir kind of feel but with a female lead rather than Humphrey Bogart type! I’m really intrigued by the concept of a girl and ghost urban detective duo.

I do like the sound of it, especially the girl and ghost team. It’s edging closer to being read…st some point!
