Top Marks for Murder- Robin Stevens
I haven’t started yet but I shall be completing my reading of my MMU Marathon with the 8th Novel. Not sure if it will fit in my casebook though so I hope Robin has many more in her!!!

I know I’ve not done this for a few weeks due to holiday then flu but since last Wednesday…
Rules for Vanishing – Kate Alice Marshall
I’ll be honest and this scared me, which is huge as I don’t normally get scared by book, creeped a bit maybe but my goodness this is the most brilliant type of nightmare-fuel.

The Pearl in the Ice- Cathryn Constable
This is a wintery coming of age tale as a young girls runs away to join her father at sea and gets far more than she bargained for- spies, looming war between battling Imperialistic dynasties and whispers of an ancient legend dismissed as folk tales.

The Case of the Missing Treasure- Robin Stevens
This is a ‘short’ non murdery mystery from Robin Stevens involving Daisy and Hazel, George and Alexander, and a birthday Treasure Hunt which turns into a battle to outwit a cunning artefact thief.
Death in the Spotlight- Robin Stevens
This is a book that hints and trickles and great big stormy gulps of emotion has been leading up to and I have to say how wonderfully brilliant it was.
I may have completely lost my heart to Daisy in this one a few times.

Peril en Pointe- Helen Lipscombe
This is a great twist on the Alex Rider/ Young Bond genre by taking Black Widow/Red Sparrow’s back story of ballet school is really a school for spies and running with it being suitable for the Middle Grade Market.
Enjoyed this, I think subsequent books will be able to stretch their wings now this back story has been established.

The Queen of Childrens Historical Fiction tumbles together a real historical event with WitchHunt frenzy- sounds perfect!!
The Velvet Fox by Catherine Fisher.
This is a follow on from A Clockwork Crow which I thoroughly enjoyed last year for its spooky otherworldlyness which had the feel of The Secret Garden but supernatural with its orphan sent to a strange abandoned mansion where there are strange goings on- and a missing child.
This picks up the following autumn and the Fair Ones are out for revenge
Goodness, everything on your lists look amazing! I am sorely tempted to just add them all to my shopping cart. I think the one that is especially pulling me in is Rules for Vanishing – was it terribly horribly scary? Or just spooky? Ahhh! I can’t wait for your review!

Aww thank you. Rules for Vanishing is chilling in the sense of use of terror both implied and apparent. We are terrified because the characters are AND how what happens to them is unreliable- you feel unsettled throughout which is quite chilling!
I thoroughly recommend it. Out now in the UK and November for US 💜

Rules for Vanishing sounds amazing although one to be read in daylight for me! I’m going to save The Velvet Fox and The Somerset Tsunami for Believathon – I think!

Definitely a day book!!! I read it on a night where Tinyfae had insomnia and that was a HUGE mistake (you may have seen my reaction on Twitter)
