Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly book blogging initiative hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl with new themes each week.
The theme this week is Favorite Bookmarks
Ha!! Ahem. I have children who see mummy’s things as super high value. I mean, my goodness getting to use my pens whether allowed or not- you can practically hear the choirs of angels singing the hallelujah chorus.
But it seems that if mummy has a proper-let alone posh-bookmark, the magpies gleam with kleptomania in their eyes and my preciouses disappear to be found in their treasures.
Now I’m not one to be prissy about this as it’s encouraging reading but it does mean that I’m not one of those people today who may be showing photos of beautiful, hand embroidered, gorgeously arty, personalised, or House or franchise themed bookmarks worthy of Bookstagram 🙈
1.CLEAN Loo roll or tissue– this is probably the most popular option if I’m completely truthful. 🙈
2.Lego cards from the supermarket! As long as the girls don’t see it!
3.Used Envelope usually the discarded vehicle of…
4.Hospital letter– we have double the letters as the girls are jointly booked for three different departments- at least I am reusing the paper!!
5.Random Pamphlet– for a while it was a book box programme through a local bookshop as it was in the bag when I started reading then just carried on.
6.Post-it. But the proper ones or they lose their sticky and fall out 😕
7. if I’m super lucky enough to get a book early the matching Publicity printout from the publisher
8. Printed publicity bookmark if I’m lucky enough to hold onto one long enough before Littlefae twigs- there are currently a few displayed lovingly around our ‘Wishing’ Tree which to be fair I’m not going to intervene because I think is super cute.
9. Publicity Postcard if I’m lucky to have one! We don’t have many of these & the signed ones go into our special memories box BUT there are a few unsigned ones lovingly adorning the stand of our wishing tree and I won’t stop Littlefae wishing for new books..
10.Beautiful metal feather bookmarks. My husband bought a set of them as a gift BUT we had to hide them for a while as they got ‘collected’ from the bag, even the books!! Then I forget to get them back out now the fever for them has diminished.
