This frankly awesome cover was illustrated by Bill Bragg & designed by Ray Tierney and is a great visual summation of the feels of this series if you haven’t come across the Sticky Pines saga before!

In The Valley Of The Strange Lucy Sladan and Milo Fisher’s investigation is turning tough with Lucy’s dad under some kind of mind hijacking, Milo being chased by trolls and an eerie river of goo running under the whole valley.

I’ve loved this series since I received an early proof of The Bigwoof Conspiracy which introduced us to Sticky Pines and the secrets behind the small town facade, and then again in The Thing At Black Hole Lake which split open the secrets and revealed far deeper paranormal truths among us for Lucy and Milo.

Dashe’s middlegrade series is perfect for young readers (and not so young readers) who love funny books with a twist and you KNOW will love The X Files , Eerie Indiana,  Ghostbusters (old or new) and definitely a splash of Stranger Things and similar cult SFF but maaaaybe they are just a bit too young for it now!!

Dashe has an effortless cool writing style as she tells the stories of Lucy Sladan and her new friend-not-friend Milo Fisher as they uncover the paranormal secrets of their sleepy town with biting wit and banter before being scared silly. However, Dashe also brings in the worries and woes of being a modern tween, friendships, family, finding yourself and whether you want to fit in or not, dyeing your hair purple and then with the added charm of small town Americana that makes this series something deeply and truly special.

I hope you check out the previous books if you haven’t already so you are looking forward to the new release in September as much as I am!!!
